Over the last few months I have been monitoring a Facebook Group called “What Fairmont Needs . . .”. It represents a collection of members who want to see Fairmont WV regain its economic position as a vital component in the West Virginia landscape. They post ideas of what they believe would be important to Fairmont such as businesses to revitalize a distressed downtown. Many members have taken on the task of “cold” contacting restaurant chains, department stores, gas stations, etc. with the hope that those establishments while come to the area. I’ll keep following their progress!
Welcome to my Blog “Issues in West Virginia and the City of Fairmont”. I hope to discuss concerns regarding the West Virginia and the "Friendly City", Fairmont that you probably will not find elsewhere. That will include links to important information, hopefully thought-probing questions plus my commentary on “stuff that just gets under my skin”.

Downtown retail incubator
Thought I'd post this link to an article regarding a community that established a downtown retail business incubator for growth. There must be some city-owned property to nurture something like this!

Advocate
I advocate transparency and accountability when it comes to informing the taxpaying voters what you, the non-profit organizations, are doing.
How stupid do they think we are?
I cannot believe how gullible public officials think we are! Do they really believe they can tell us anything and we won’t question it? Well, beware, that doesn’t play with me! I can be your worst nightmare!
